WTB: Computer Laptop Help - $5 paypal, lol

I'm looking to purchase a laptop but not sure which route to go, I'll pay $5 paypal if I can get a reliable answer on what the best bang for my buck will be.

I can purchase a used Dell Latitude D600 or Dell Latitude D810 for $300 or a HP Business Notebook Nc6000 for $225

OR

I can buy a new laptop, there are always deals on slickdeals and fatwallet for instance: Dell Vostro 1400 ($430), Dell Vostro 1500 ($425), Compaq F762NR ($400), or Compaq Presario C700T ($330 AR).

In the first option I understand they are all business notebooks, I just want a laptop for internet and school work, I don't plan on playing any games but my main goal is to get the most for my money here, I also understand specs and options come into play but I'm just confused if I should be going the cheaper used route or new route.

Thanks for any help and advice, first sensible thought out answer will get the $5 and this thread is closed, lol. Thanks again for the help, I appreciate it, have a good night!!

first off do not buy COMPAQ period. as for the other laptops can u post specs so i aint gotta look up each one? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif but if its just for school which ever has the biggest HD/RAM and processor. ive always liked DELL.

and i dont like buying used laptops so if i was u id spend the extra buck which is not much for a brand new laptop from dell with warranty and seeing as tho the v1500 and v1400 are the exact thing just the 1500 has 15.4 screen id go with that.

why not? i've owned 2 compaqs and never had a problem with them..i would say go with dell

compaq is the budget version of HP computers... nothing wrong with them they are what they are.. a budget friendly computer. Can't expect high class performance out of a hyundai can you? Same goes with compaq.

stil go with the 1500. buying used i dont like cuz even wen u reformat u dont kno how cluttered or bad the HD is etc. and for the price difference why not buy a new dell wit warratny and id still go with the 1500 since more ram and little smaller hd but u will never use 80gigs on school work lol. and again has bigger screen. other than that they the same. and dvd burner but u can just add that if u really want it. thats my opinion for ya man
