I'm not sure why anybody ever uses a bass knob. Assuming it operates the same as any other standard "bass boost knob", when using the knob you're really saying "I don't want the maximum bass I could have while listening to this particular song." Who ever wants that?? What scenario? Bass is good! And more is better!!

pending what i am listening to as i drive , i can increase or decrease the bass on demand with a turn of the knob

I have a bass knob that came off a Viper 1200.1 - made by DEI, the same maker of Crunch. Not sure if it will fit your amp, though - pic of the connector?
