Wow nate, long time no see, haven't seen you since you were getting a house. Both of you PM me prices if you don't mind, its not for me, but i told my buddy i'd track him down some apxxs. I'm just getting an apx this week and it made him want his apxx back.

Which motor model was it that only held the 3 inch coil? I'm definitely looking for the 4"er, i'm trying to check here and find out the different motors for an apxx.

From what i'm googling it shows the apx used the 856 motor as well, i thought it was the 818 or whatever i just ordered, how many **** motors did atomic/sja use?

Atomic did make a few different motors over the years. Alot of people mix up the apx and the apxx motors. The apxx is much bigger then the apx and is available in a 3'' or 4'' coil. Unless your running stupid power the 4'' is really no use to you. Most new apx motors are the 818 toplate and the apxx the 856 toplate. There are also 848 824 and some other ones out there. So The gap and design can be different on older motors. Any questions feel free to pm me about atomic Ive been using them for a few years.

which one of these motors work best for loud daily spl use. i have 2 818s i built into 12s and they sound great just at times they sound a little off. i think the 818s are more for burps than for music

APX/APXX in general are more for burps than music IMO
