My buddy just bought a solo x from one of my other friends...lol...but anyways he needs an amp to power it.

He isnt going to have a very strong electrical so he needs a very efficient amp. He is actually gonna have a stock electrical at first, until he gets enough money to upgrade it.

The absolute most he has to spend is $550 shipped...preferably less though.

So let me know what you got and how much. Zip code is 72450 to calculate shipping.

tell him to uprade his electrical first. its gonna be better for him to replace it now before he buys an amp, then to replace both the amp and the electrical if he runs it just stock.
I have already tried many many times. He wants an amp first. He is quite stubborn...and hes only 14.

i think a solo x for a 14 year old is a waste of time and money
Exactly what I think, but hes rich....well actually his parents are...the own a car lot. But he bought the solo x from my other friend for $640 and hes got $550 cash to spend.

He doesn't seem to understand how much he needs to upgrade his electrical. He doesn't want to buy an extra battery. but im gonna try to keep talkin him into it. Maybe we can find an amp cheaper than $550 and maybe he will have enough left over to at least get an extra battery.

I would suggest the (2) orion 1200ds that I have, it wouldnt be $550 thats a promise, but I def agree with the previous statement. Got to upgrade electrical first even before you consider that much power. Otherwise, just run the risk of frying you new amps and maybe much more.

:shakes head:

It takes power to make power.

at 100% efficency 2500 watts @ 13 volts (being generous with this part, his voltage probably wont be this good). You are talking ~192 amps of current draw.

We drop this down to 80% efficiency you are in the 240 amp range.

Tell him this. If he wants to be a dumbshit and not do it right the first time. Let him find his own amp. But he is 14...he doesn't need a car to begin with.

The need alot of juice?

info on this kid so i can beat the living piss out of him??

anyway, tell his stupid ***, if he hooks up a 2kw+ amp to a stock electrical and isnt VERY careful (someone as obviously retarded as this will not be careful) he's going to destroy his amp, his battery, and his alternator one by one. i'm hoping it will be his amp first, so he runs out, buys another amp and destroys it as well before maybe figuring out he needs electrical support.
