Trust me when I tell you that a properly set up one with premium amplification makes all the difference in the world. It makes my dual mono block Orion Xtreme amps sing, very clean output. There are a few on eBay right now in the price range that you seek. Be sure to check feedback and ask lots of questions.

Need a tech brief on the 7998 just let me know I can email it to you. I cannot think of a single deck available right now that has all the features and performance of the 7998 I would have it rebuilt/modded before getting something else.

Hey. I'm selling my CDA 7998 (bought an IVA D310)

Here's some pics: (Epic 150 not included)

The bottom of the plastic trim ring was cut along th bottom to make room for the Epic 150. It's hardly noticable but a replacement can be purchased from Ebay for $15 shipped.
