WTB Active Capable Head Unit

Changed my mind, instead of looking for a new active crossover, i think the best option will be to get a new head unit with the ability to run 3 way active.

Looking for something with t/a, 3 way xo, 24 bit dac, and ipod connectivity.

My budget is adjustable.

i LOVED my clarion dxz775usb. there's that and the 785usb (a few more bands on the EQ)

does 3 way active (bandpass on the lows AND mids), does USB, T/A, tons of colors.

some people didnt liek the way the face plate buttons are arranged for switching tracks (the middle part of the face slides left and right for track search)...that and there being no knob for volume, just and up and down switch/button. i personally wasn t bothered by any of this and was throughly impressed by the quality for a reasonable price.

that and the USB searching is FAST, much faster than my current alpine and several other decks with USB or ipod ive used.

3 way active or 2 way + sub? There is a difference.

when you first power ont he deck itll ask you if you want 2 way or 3 way, you do 3 way and you're set. I ran 3 way + sub by putting a preamp in line between the midbass preouts and the midbass amp. from there that signal went out to my midbass and sub amp. I just used the hpf on the misbass amp for the 80hz ish i needed, and the lpf on the sub amp aroun 80 hz ish that i needed for the sub. (leaving the hpf for the lows OFF on the deck).

3 way tends to have BPF on the mids and lows. 2 way + sub tends to have BPF on just the mids.
