need one for a beginner, 3 band EQ(preferrably) cross fader, and vol controls, at least 2 channels.

I used to have one...sold it a while ago, though.

There are basic mixers up on Ebay all the time, you can usually find Behringer, Samson or Optimus models for under $50.

Radio Shack runs clearances on their "pro sound" gear all the time as well, they usually have a couple 2-channel disco mixers on clearance.
