my friend has a 12" alpine type X that has a ripped voice coil (slight rattle noise when bass hits when you put your ear up to it) and also threw his amp on protect..but still works great on other amps that dont have the protect...(id assume its a wiring fault inside the sub)...you'd have to make and offer...he has a small sealed box for it too...pm me..
