nope but it limits the amperage going to rear battery

You dont have to have one but if you play your music alot with your car off its good to have one

yes if you have an amp or 2 or 3 that are power hungry you can poof your alt

im going to run double alt and i aint putting one in . but then again i am going to run at 18-16 volts
