wtb a 21" cone

I think what this guy ment was that you are not half done with the build of your 21" sub onlyfrom what I can tell - looks like your doing good with your viechle build for the 18"

but the 21" build of the sub only - what do you have so far for that ?
well i have a basket,i bought a pyle pro 21 off of PE for $200,which is cheaper that getting just a basket from IA,its the exact same basket as the IA 21 and the exodus audio maelstrom 21,i also have a few different motors to choose from,so basically all i need is the soft parts and im in business.

what do you think you can do with the stock "pyle" 21 cone ?

carefully trim it away its dust cap with a fresh exacto blade - and gently cut around the coil to free the cone from the spiders and coil ....

then all you would have to do is find a way to cut out the surround with out damaging it.. maby re use the cone since you already got it.

you CAN have a cone with a smaller coil hole cut out to fit a larger coil in it.... not shure what size coil the pyle 21 has from pe tho.

well i bought that pyle just for the basket because IA told me it was going to be $239.99 + shipping just for the basket, and pyle wants $199.87 for a whole sub so i went that route.

and you are right,i dont want to be stuck with just an IA motor,im trying to have some options.the pyle does have a 4" coil but its only like 1" long, its quite pathetic really:laugh:

You should definitely just save the cone from the pyle sub to save yourself the headache.
i have thought about that but its a pretty crappy cone,i mean its kind of thin and the surround dont leave alot of room for excursion.but i might just try it anyway.maybe use a very thin coat of resin or some carbon fiber or something to stiffen the cone,i dont know ill try something.
