Yeah that 780 stole my heart when my buddy showed me the tach feature.

i think that is when the screen shows the voltage of the car through a tach(tachometer) like that of gauge cluster.

The 880 can show your voltage also.

But I don't know how accurate it is.

the 780 will show you the cars RPM's or cars voltage, or both. It will show you the RPM's in a real time number, or as a graph over a period of time, so you can see where you shifted at.

Not exactly, my buddy has a S-10 show truck and he was in town and I was sitting in his truck at a party, he had his truck i guess you could say "sponsering" the party music. His Ipod was hooked up to it on random with about 2800 songs. Loud *** Bostons and MB Quarts setup.

Anyway, i was chilling with him and saw this 1000 or so kinda fluttering on the screen, so i asked him what it was. He said to push the gas, so I did and it went up right along with the tachometer.

It is a tach, not a voltage meter. He said he set it up by reving his engine up to 2000rpms and setting it. Then it just worked from there. It was cool as shit.

Your friend didnt show you everything it could do... the deck has 3 ways to display the information.. here are 3 screen shots.. and it looks like all 3 show RPM and voltage....the 1st being the one showing you the shift points. I have the deck..

Yeah, I think he showed me the bottom 2, but I never saw the shift points. Thats really badass. I rode to the store with him and everything. Never saw that. This deck is so sweet. The 980 is the exact same thing but it has the bluetooth capabilities right?

It is an excellant SQ receiver as well...having the 16 band eq ...time alignment...advanced crossover points and hi volt RCA outputs...I hate I sold mine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif But didn't have a need for it right now...
