specs are the exact same between the mark 1 and 2. http://www.acoustic-visions.com/~acoustic/products/speakers/car_audio/adire_koda_6_midbass.shtml

the only difference is that the surround on the mark 2 is normal and going out where the mark 1 surround is an inverted one. this does not affect performece. they are the same in function and looks for the most part besides the surround.

why dont you stick with cdt and see if you can find a pair of there shallow mount mids. its great quality and not to much money. just serach on the web iam sure youll come across somthing.
