I have never heard the PG's, but I have type-s's all the way around in my T-Bird. My honest opinion on them is that the highs are loud and clear. Thier downfall is They lack midbass. My factory 5x7's had more punch than tem, but the type-s's are WAY louder. Powered off my headunit they still sound great. I cant speak for the PG's however because I have never heard them...but for a good enough price, the alpines are great!

I know that, my buddy has some all the way around in his caprice off his HU and they scream. Im more towards the Type S, but wanna try the PGs also....

i tested the type s vs infinity ref coax and the infins were way louder and cleaner
