4 18's wouldn't necessarily be an "upgrade". 6 15's have more cone area...

to me it is an upgrade to size

i have a jl 1000/1 running all 6

a yellow top battery,180 amp atl,and a small kinetik battery

with just 1kw going to 4 subs, try and find something efficient that doesn't need a lot of power to get loud...I'd suggest some MJ-18's.

no 4 18"s have more cone area than 6 15"s... now if he had 8 15"s than yeah... but not with 6...

buy 2 good 18"s and a solid 2000-3000w...

i have the mtx 4500's

1) Get 4 MJ-18's, which will be about $520 shipped to you.

2) Get a 1 channel amp that does about 1.5-2kw at 1ohm.

3) Build either a sealed or ported box...the MJ's like both.

4) Enjoy.

while i'm hear tring to build a system what do u guys think 4-18 or a shit load of 12's just wondering

what is the price with a good amp shipped to me

I'd try to sell the 1000/1 or trade it and get a Sundown 1500 or an IA 20.1. Those will give you a good bit more power. Then, as far as subs, I would listen to these guys and go with some MJ 18s. 4 of them sealed on either a SAZ1500d or 20.1 will definitely get loud.
