Well, I'm going to throw my $0.02 in....

The 13w7 is a very nice sub....but not worth the money (as others have said).

Help your friend out and if he's dead set on 13's, go with the Elemental Designs 13av2's!!!! I've used/heard every size of the w7 and I'll tell you first hand, after owning 10+ of the 13av2's, that they are nearly identical in SPL and SQ as the w7 but a lot cheaper!

I have 8, lmk if you want a pair. Mine are d4's. I have a pair in my truck right now if you want to meet up one day and take a listen. Impressive to say the least!

They're listed at 59 lbs but IMO feel a tad heavier than that.
