Possible you send me your box design? I want to learn more about port surface area and tuning. My box is a 4.25 cu/ft @ 33Hz 46 sq/in of port. I dont understand it all yet, but Id like to build another box (depending on current transactions) with 75 sq/in of port tuned to 28Hz.Well, I just starting using this box like a week ago. Before I had 4.15net, 70sq" tuned to 27hz which sounded oh so good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
This sub needs port area thanks to all that displacement, alot of which is very linearAlso, considering the amount of power I have on tap(which is another key factor in deciding port area), I decided on 80sq". I can do a 147.9 on a stiff A/C at 40hz.
I ran an Inhuman 15" and later a 9515d in 5.0cubes, 60sq" of port(tuned to 38hz) and 1200w. Metering the 9515d, it did a 147.9 @ 44-45hz on the same mic. Obviously I had a more SPL oriented install, and a more SPL oriented sub..
I gotta get this thing on the new Termlab(which should be soon, unless this guy buys it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif )
BTW, I'm figuring the A/C I've been using is about 1-2db down from the new sensor.
