the gbl offered would do more than rated. what is the amp your currently using? sometimes your will find that numbers that they throw on the ratings dont mean all that much. i have a mtx thunder 304 thats rated at 37.5w x 4 @ 4ohms but actually does 90w x 4 @ 4ohms and then there are amps that say they are 90w x4 rms but actually arent even close to that or maybe will do rated if your lucky. this is why i asked what amp your using.

Just get a Planet Audio BB175.4 on ebay for $135. 175wrms X 4. It does rated at 13.2 V.

I have a MB Quart DSC480 running right now which i feel might be underratted but hey, its my first amp who knows. don't know too much about planet audio but i'm not sure if im interested in a D-Class amp. Looking for sq and i feel that a A/B would do better

Lol..hope you realize the difference between 80 and 140 at full output is less than 3 dB gain in an ideal installation...almost all of what you listen to is below full output, unless you listen to straight sine waves.

you would need a far greater amount of power to make a serious difference, albeit 1 dB can be noticed.

all i know is that i'm running 80 watts while my speakers peak at 140. well my fronts. my back ones run 125... but anyway, if i can sell the one i have and use that money plus some extra to buy some another, seems like a simple fix next to selling all my speakers since they can't handle much over 140 (esp the backs mentioned earlier). hypothetically tho...how many watts would you suggest?
