WTB: 10" Subwoofer ~300-400w/rms 4ohm

Love your avatar.

How would a Sundown SA-10 sound in a .92 cubic ft box before displacement. Ive heard that these subs perform decent even on the lower end of the power scale.

Hmm, i always considered parts express stuff kinda cheap? Have you heard these?

Im looking at getting the tensil leads fixed on my RE SE and wanted to try that in a small sealed box if it wasnt going to break the bank to get it fixed.
I personally have not heard these but there is a klippel test over at diyma.com and they are well regarded as a sound quality subwoofer on multiple forums including this one. Some of the things on partsexpress are cheap and other things are very nice. The Dayton subwoofer falls into the very nice category. I plan on getting two of the Dayton Audio High output reference subwoofers for my setup. I've done a lot of research and that is the subwoofer that I've decided to go with. You really can't go wrong with Dayton subs.

The SA subwoofers aren't going to win any sound quality competitions. The Dayton is a low distortion, sound quality driver. It all depends on what your goals are? Do you want a little more SPL or do you want sound quality?

SPL, as this will be in a boat. Not really trying to get great SQ just some thump.

Currently this is what is in the boat:

Amps:

WetSound Syn 6

Cadence A7 HC

JL m2150

Subs:

(1) Re Audio SX 10" vented box on the Cadence A7HC @ 1ohm (~1200-1300watts)

(1) JL Marine 10" Infinite Baffle on m2150 @ 4ohm (~250watts)

Speakers:

WetSounds Pro 485 mounted on the tower back firing on ch5/6 of the SYN6 (~600w @ 4ohms)

(4) JL Audio Marine M770 7" driver w/ 1" tweeters on the SYN6 (~60x4 @ 4 ohms)

Batteries / Electronics:

(1) Optima Blue top starting

(1) Excide 34XCD Aux battery

(1) Stinger 200amp isolator

(1) 150amp breaker

(1) 135amp breaker

(1) 40amp breaker

(2) Distribution blocks

4awg everwhere

0/1awg coming from engine block / alt

100amp alternator

The issue is that the RE SX is in a closed compartment, and it sounds fine, but it gets muffled quite a bit, and the JL sub doesn't do much being free air. My plans were to leave the Grill of the JL sub mounted to the wall, but behind the wall put the SA10 in a smaller sealer box (~.92ft^3 before displacement) and replace the m2150 amp with JL 360.2 and feed it about 360w/rms... Since the wall is not sealed it should improve the overall bass of the boat...
