Hey i just bought 2 rockford fosgate P1s412, the rms on these are 50 - 150w and a max of 300, and i found this amp, http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ol...28389 which is a rms of 220w x 2, would this work with my subs, or would i damage something??? also i found this box http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ol...79475 but it looks like the depth and width measurements were mixed up, so do you guys think this combo would work??

I wouldn't put anymore than rated on those subs.. That amp is very overrated and that box is garbage.

 

I'd return the subs buy something better thats low priced. Like RE REs and put like 250watts to each, find a better amp, and build ur own box.

Overpowering a sub and causing them to overheat and blow. Meaning that would no longer work and would more than likely make sum smoke and stink up ur car.

I'm guessing u bought them from Best Buy, so i'd just return them and im sure we could design u a better setup within ur desired price range.

i actually bought them from crutchfield, they were like buy 1 get one free, and i only spent about 90 dollars, and the second amp is this, im not really looking for extreme clarity, i want something loud, and that you can feel coming down the street. so what do you guys think is the maximum watts i should run into these subs are??

With what you are looking at it won't be loud by any definition of the word and u won't feel it coming down the street.

 

You basically are getting the bottom 2% of subwoofers, amp, and enclosure. I wouldn't have any high expectations by any means. Also $90 is cheap for those 2 woofers, but u could of gotten 2 12" RE REs for $100 shipped and had much better quality equipment.

well i saw the same p1 rockford 10's at best buy and the amp was running 250w x 2 and it sounded pretty good, but the subs im getting are 12's, so if i got a 220w per channel amp why wouldnt it sound the same or even better?

Because i'm guessing u heard them inside of a building and not a car lol... Those woofers are the lowest ones RF makes and only running 400 or so watts in a prefab box wouldn't yield very good output.

 

I'm sure you'd be ok w/ that amp becuase it is very overrated, i mean if you're dead set on getting that amp + box go for it. I just wouldn't expect much out of that setup.

well im not set on getting the amp or box, its just i already bought the subs and they are being shipped as we speak, the thing is im on a very tight budget, probably no more than 160 for the amp and no more than 80 on the box, so could you guys reccomend some stuff for me??
