hey what's up all?

I am lookin' for some help on my system.

i have a dual 12" ported box and a power acoustik 1200 gothic amp.

for a temp setup i want to mount the amp to the back of the box. Is this going to hurt

the box when i want to move the amp later on?

also how many cap's should i get 2 or will one do??

thanx all

It's not recommended to mount the amp on the box, might cause damage to the amp. Do not get a cap, they are useless. Save your money and get a high output alternator or get your current alternator rewound to a higher output.

I have mounted my amps directly to my sub enclosure for years and

have never had any problems.

Many high output home subwoofers have their amps built directly

inside the enclosure without any special protection from vibration.

As long as it is secured to the box well. And your enclosure is built properly.

So it doesn't have any loose sections that vibrate uncontrolably.

I don't see any reason why you can't mount an amp to your enclosure.

If anyone has had bad luck mounting amps to enclosures please respond

with your story. This has just been my experience with mounting amps.

As far as caps go I can live without them.

if you HAVE to mount it on the box youll be ok most likely. sometimes depending on the system youll have to get stuff retightened and all that, but if you want to its up to you to put it on the box. its recomended to put maybe another 3/4MDF board, or dynamat between the box and amp to reduce vibrations. As for he cap, you wont really need one, like said above a H/O alternator will fix your problems if they occur.

thanx all for the help.

I just wasn't too sure thanx again.

yes, they can "mess up" other parts of your car, of course if they were sitting on the box also. the vibration is going to be like 10x worse on a box then if just sitting 2 feet away from it in your trunk.

Mounting your amp on your box will rattle internal components just the same as if it were mounted on the floor of the trunk...it just may take longer.
