i need a new car. bottom line. i was wondering, if i go to a ford dealership and tell them i want to trade my car in as a down payment on a different car that they dont have in stock, will they find the car i want? IE. i want a 94 taurus sho, but if they dont have it in their lot will they find that car for me?

this is kinda off topic (no thread jacking intented) do they actually use ford engines in the SHO's? my buddy has a 1991 SHO (older body style) and he said it has like a yamaha or toyota engine in it ( i cant remember). can anyone clarify this?

a new car dealership definately wont because most of the time they sell their cars off to a used car dealership, ur best bet is to ask around at local car lots... and i know you dont like me but trust me i happen to know something about this my family owns two car lots.. Tomsic Cadillac and Oldsmobile and Tomsic Chrysler...so dont give me shit.

Having sent 5yrs in the car buisness, I would say that it's diffenetly within the realm of possiblities. There aren't too many new car dealerships that don't have there own used lot and I can assure you that their used car director has a huge network of wholesalers that he deals with on a regular basis that can find you the car you are looking for, even one that is 10yrs old.....Mind you there are going to be several factors that play a part in weither or not they take you serious or not........ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I was just recently looking for an 8-9 year old car, and did ask around at the local dealerships. There was one that did look for me, they weren't able to find it, but they did look. They said most of the time they only dealt with cars 2-3 years old, though.

I can't imagine the book on a 94 Ford is that high, why not just save the down payment and buy it from autotrader?
