i don't mind watching soccer and catch the key matchups during the world's largest sporting event. But i still feel like most americans could care less about futbol. So who's watching. who even cares?

Americans are too proud of football to watch soccer, although the fake injuries often seen in soccer is pretty ridiculous.

That being said, football is pretty awesome. If it's an international sport then I would love to see Mongolia vs. Brazil.

i think it has more to do with the fact that we **** at it. look at how many kids play soccer growing up now. yet because the U.S. isn't good at it on a world level its not encouraged compared to other sports

You hit the nail on the head there. The problem isn't that we produce inferrior athletes it's that we have an inferior devolopmental program compared to the rest of world. In Europe and South America it's common for people to continue playing even as an adult. Here is mostly stops in primary/middle school.

Meh....I was into it a whole lot more when I was younger...it's always the same countries that win it....Brazil, Italy, Argentina, Uruguay, Germany, etc.....the soccer girls are always nice tho.

I love futbol, great game to watch and play.

I personally think it never picked up in the U.S. because there are no commercials during the game except for half time. This country is too commercialized for a program to go on that long without interruption.

Soccer is boring, kids choose to focus on better sports in the US. Hockey, lacrosse, football, basketball...even baseball (almost as boring as soccer) are all more fun than soccer. Who saw the highlight of the guy running across the field and ended up kicking another dude in the stomach? That ****** went down hard...hilarious.
