workin new hours ...meh

whats up guys, i took this bs job at wally world unloading trucks from 4pm -1am. for the most part its not to bad, we been geting out around 12:15 each night for the past week. its about a 25min ride home so lets say on avarge i get in around 1-130 am . Now my question for the people that work the hours i work whats the best way to get to bed within 2 hours of me comeing home? i cant stand stayin up all night it sucks. i come home and shower and i find it wakes my *** up .

 
Dont take a shower?

Seriously thought when I work late and get out after 10-11PM I cant get to bed either. Its just over stimulation. Best way I find is just eat something and lay and watch TV.

I don't work that particular shift but I do work 11PM-7:30AM and it took some getting used to but now I can pretty much fall asleep whenever. Your shift doesn't seem to bad though because before I started this shift I used to go to sleep around midnight-1:00 anyways.

 
I'd eat a filling meal and watch some discovery channel. Usually works for getting pretty tired. Even after taking a shower that should work.

If you're taking cold showers I'd switch it to warm, if you're already taking warm showers then you're good to go.

 
dont think about sleeping too much. i have that problem too where if i try to go to bed and i think about sleep, it just keeps me up. sometimes a beer or 2 will relax ur and help u pass out

 
Never have that problem and I have workd 2-10s and 4-mids before. And I shower when I get home. I am usually so sleepy sometimes I barely feel like doing THAT. If Im lucky I can keep my eyes open for an hour or two when I get home while watching TV on the couch before I zonk out and the fiance has to wake me up so I can go upstairs and get in the bed. Hell I don't even bother putting on movies after 930-10pm anymore. I know I'll fall asleep half way through and have to make time to finish the thing the next day.

Don't walk around and do anything when you get home. Lay on the couch and watch TV. Turn the lights out, leave the house dark. Have a beer or glass of scotch or two. Scotch does it for me every time. Big meal helps too, your body starts putting all its energy toward digesting that food and you have less left to stay awake. But be careful, this may also make you fat.
