i dont think i will want vista untill xp is unusable ive heard nothing but horror stories
I have vista and I don't like it it's PMS for computers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/viking2.gif.35c13a457368016b956ccf693af31291.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsdown.gif.d22f25895e9b40f2300c953691dacfa2.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/compcrash.gif.4ecfedd515e492755e2899769e83940b.gif

I cant get lime wire to work WTF?

I got two free product keys from my school so I tried it out. It's pretty badass but for some reason there seems to be some compatibility issues with Pro Engineer. With XP I had no problems modeling and creating drawings. With Vista modeling is marginally slower, but it literally takes 10 seconds to select a dimension on a drawing. It's simply unusable.

i have vista and used it for 2 weeks and went back to XP

i had alot of problems with drivers working.

and some of my programs would not work with it at all.

it did run alot faster than XP on my rig but it still has alot of bugs, and the updates caused conflicts with some of my hardware.

my rig is old an AMD 3000+ normally right at 3 gh O/C'd to 2.8GH

3 gigs of ddr 400 fsb

vid card nivida fx ultra 5700

system is a few years old but still plenty fast for now.

Vista... meeeh... I'd wait till the high end haardware becomes mainstream to even attempt to run it... I mean its not THAT slow, but it will slow an older computer down some, more services running... yaddayadda

Not to mention driver support isnt there yet, program compatibility might be an issue still,

I like my XP for now

IT sure looks pretty tho

I ran vista for a while, about a month since its release. Then a .cab file became corrupt and windows explorer kept failing. Haven't reinstalled it since. Now that apple tv is out i've got no use for windows anymore.

Anyways, I won't be reinstalling untill there are quite a few programs that are compatible with vista.

Cross your fingers for a mac version of Zone Alarm.

It's a LOT of internal work to make Vista what it is. The UI was just something to prove they did make changes. Most of the early reviews show a lot of the contrasts between XP and Vista on the inside.

The way things sound - I wouldn't even consider looking at Vista until the first service pack. If Fedora Core 7 Linux is as big an improvement over 6 as 6 was over 5 I won't even have to look at Vista.

Most people shopuldn't consider it until the first SP, but thanks to MS marketing most will have it before then. I did buy the ultimate version already, because I like its media center and was building a new HTPC. if it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have touched it. I got the Ultimate for $150 too, so it wasn't a big loss. the rest of my PCs and server will remain on XP for a time to come though.

It would have been a lot more different had they stuck with pounding out a new DB file structure like they promised from the beginning. That was my biggest let down from it.
