hey anyoine tried or seen the new version of windows? i have the evaluation liscense and beta version and it looks amazing, the only thing is is that it's getting more and more like macs as far as how everything looks....

XP can look like that or even exactly like a Mac for that matter. Skins, does not an OS make?
To answer your question though I hadn't tried Visat/longhorn yet. Once I heard they were pulling the plug on the new DB based file structure, I lost all interest in it.

nah, they just released a statement that this beta has all the features that the new os will have and that they just might tweak it some more. the cool thing about this version is that normally when u install something you have to do a full reboor- well this version can reset itself without doing a full restart saving a good amount of time, i thought that was pretty cool

But this version nor the final version will have the DB driven file structure they promised us from the very beginning. Their old file structure is toooooo slow. It would have been the best thing for their OS. Instead they keep concentrating on adding more multimedia BS and graphic wowness to sell the **** OS instead of actually making a better foundation for it.

i have a job in the i.t. field so i got an acount to demo the beta for free and yes it is still very pleasing to the eye but could use more improvements for speed

Where did you get a beta version from, and how much?

Legally:

To becoem a Beta tester you need to PAY for a subscription to MSDN, or you can sign up to http://beta.microsoft.com and then sit and wait to see if you get accepted

Illegally:

Jump on any P2P, newsgroup, IRC channels, etc.
