Hey guys, I need some help. I am interested in investing in a window tint cutter. Are these the same thing as a vinyl cutter, because I know some tint cutters can cut both tint and vinyl, but is this just how the majority of vinyl cutters work. EX) If i do a search for vinyl cutter, can I use one of these for tints also. Im not looking for anything crazy, I know ive seen some for around 8-10,000 but im just looking to get one for 2-3,000. If any of you know where I can find a decent one I would appreciate it. Also are there any chain stores that might sell these. I can not find them in stores ANYWHERE around me. Thanks!

****, never even seen a tint shop do that. Would be pretty **** cool //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

No, it doesnt take any time at all besides when you have to change rolls. There is a database that comes along with the good machines, consisting of cars from 1990-2005, and there is a software that constantly updates day to day. You find the car your tinting and it has the layout of every window on the car. You click what windows you want, it cuts it out for you perfectly so you dont have to do any cutting. You can tint a whole car in like 30 min w/ experience.

Who actually does that? Im sure the cuts would be more accurate than a tinter, but what if you need to heat shrink for a curved back window? Would that software take into account that? Dont think so. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

i know nothing about tinting or tinting machines. But i know almost everywhere they have a tint kit with your specified car and you have to remove all your windows to properly install the tint. Buts thats all i know so i could be wrong :\

Actually, yea, it does take that into account buddyyyyyyyyyyyy. It even takes into account any stock antennas in the back window or any other little pieces that might be stock. All you need with this machine is a scrapper, thats it!!, maybe a heat gun to make some parts stick or something. If you do 8 tints a day, you can make major profit with this machine.

dude. just get tint, stick it to the window, then trim it up.

theres no need for a machiene lkie this. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Ah..the debate over a plotter. I have an anagraph plotter with tint tek. Funny thing is, I dont use it..at all. Anyone who thinks the machine cuts better than an experienced window tinter is 100% wrong. I choose to cut my own patterns because they fit perfect.

This machine is just not 'peel and stick'. If you think that, you will be horribly upset when you get it. And back windows..if you think they just lay down..and you only need a heat gun to make 'parts stick', then HAVE FUN!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Try tintdude.com . Do a search for plotter. Read up...you might not believe me..but when many people with their own shops say exactly what I say...you might change your mind.
