hey all, this is my first attempt at a PORTED box, and i'm having a bit of trouble with the port bending thing, i've done searches and etc, etc, but i'm still confused. the port has to be 24" deep, and the box is only 20" deep....the subs are pioneer premier 2000spl's, any help would be greatly appreciated....

i think i know what yer sayin tho, you'll have to bend the port possible 90 or 180 degrees i can send you some pics on ported boxes i've had to bend with a port of about 38" or so

yeah i tried that formula and got like a 17 digit number.....(didn't do the math right) just need my box checked

this image shows it very well, how you take hte measurement from the middle of the port (3.75" away from wall, not 7.5" away from wall like you did)

this will end up giving you a different length that what you calculated

and entered the width as 3.75, and the height as 9.5, then got the length as 18", is this right?

that box is only ~2.5 cu ft tuned to like 45 hz.

edit: nm, that was the old design.

the new design is ~3.38 cubes BEFORE subwoofer displacements and is tuned to ~33 hz.

the subs will prolly be on top....paint wouldn't let me skew the pic to make it look 3d....should be around 3.7cu ft^3, tuned to 34ish........????

ok.when i get the right tuning freq. and all the bends right, etc. etc, the volume isn't right....everything else right, the volume isn't right......can somebody explain how to calculate the port bends and everything right in moron terms, instead of giving me a link?im not stupid, i just need someone to explain it to me........thanks

ok....here's a new one, with the subs on the top, and the port going down from the top of the box....can someone tell me the volume/tuning freq./etc. of this box....thanks.....

p.s. the box size is 40w x 20d x 11h, subs on the top, thanks

the box is 20 deep, the port is 4 wide, yet youve got 16" on the 1st port wall. you arent counting in any wood thickness there it looks like...
