Will This Kenwood Work?

Not positive yet but I'm probably going to get a 12" Alpine Type R and wondering if the Kenwood KAC-9106D will work well with it? Will post links if needed.

if your sub dual 2 or 4 ohm? And how much is the amp?

Just found out it is a 2 ohm. Amp is 1,000 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms so I'm guessing it should be fine?

Anything else that will work and not super expensive?

It will work.

I would go another route personally. It sounds like you have a d2? So you need power at 1 or 4ohm.

A cheap budget option is a skar lp1000d.

Cool yep d2. Dang I looked for the model you listed and can't find it, I think it might be discontinued. I'm finding the kenwood cheaper than the skar amps. Thanks for the help!

audiopipe 1300 $109 ebay 1k at 1 ohm.. precision power 1k 2 1 ohm $129 or so.. or since r is rated at 1k most guys here over power sub be cause of box rise and u set gain lower and have cleaner power (no bass boost) try this or skar 1500 $179 i think.. https://www.amazon.com/AudioPipe-APCL15001D-Power-Class-Amplifier/dp/B00BW54418/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1493173605&sr=1-1&keywords=audiopipe+1500 u would need 0 wire and big 3 under hood if running over 1k in most cases..

type Rs are dual voice coil so you can only wire to 4 ohms or 1 ohm not 2.

Yep. That is in my price range if it will work for the type r. Thanks for the link! I would definitely buy it if amazon didn't say it would take 1-2 months to ship. Maybe cause it's discontinued?

yeah I didn't look at that.. u can get the skar or ap 1500 (I may get ap soon $149)

you can only wire to 2 ohm which is only 500 watts.

SSA Store - American Bass PH2500 (PH2500) will give you around 700 and when you get another one you will have 1250 for two.

If you want to step it up grab this!SSA Store - American Bass PH4000 (PH4000)
