Will SSA make an 8" Icon?

Not sure if they have yet, but is there one going to be made? I think it would be a great driver. The icons are amazing as it is, but i think it would compete well with the likes of DD 8's. depending on the dd model of course.

I don't believe so in the immediate future. SSA is a relatively low capital venture so developing a bunch of new products simultaneously like larger companies do is not particularly likely. I'm sure they've got other things up their sleeves though.

Also, small products have very small margins. You have to move a lot of product (read: purchase a lot of built product) in order to make much of a profit, so it's very hard for smaller boutique-ish companies to do.

that sucks. im torn... ill be getting a pickup soon and getting rid of my monte. there literally is no room to put any subs in unless i do a blow through, or makea very, very, very small box behind the seats. i wanted to try and do four 8's. woulda loved the icons, but i guess ill go 1508 if i can find some decently priced after i get my truck

Have you considered the Ascendant Audio Assassin's? Very popular 8" subs for less than $100 a pop.

nah i havent. i want something that will handle 500rms a peice daily, if possibe. maybe some rl-i 8's, if i cant get the DD's

Im getting 4+cubes out of my single cab behind the seat. its all on how much legroom you want,lol. and Punk0Rama I ran 4 of the first gen AA 8's in mine and LOVED them, amazing subs. They did regular 145-146s in my truck:fro:

Punk0Rama/Neil, could not have said it any better. As he said, SSA is a very small venture/brand, but we have a few things planned in the future, and a couple already in the pipeline. If you are interested in the ICON, see if you can fit a beefy 10 in there.
