Alright, I'm probably gonna sound like a retard, but it's alright.
About a year ago I bought two 12" punch rockford fosgate subs (150 watt each) with a 300 watt amp.
I had it profesionally installed because I didn't know anything about audio systems (I still don't) and they didn't even last me a year before they blew.
But now I'm addicted because my audio system sounds like crap without any bass.
So I'm wondering... Can I hook a 10" 1100 watt Sony Xplode sub to my 300 watt amp or are they not compatible? I'll probably have to tweak my amp settings to match my new sub, right?
I had it hooked up to my factory head set... will I have to do anything with that? Like can I still use the same wire and do I have to tweak any settings on the head unit or no?
I tried looking into it before asking this, but I didn't really find a solution to my problem and sounding like an idiot was just easier.
Also, I heard that if your amp is 3 to 4 times less powerful than your sub(s), you have a less likely chance of ****ing it up, right? Is this true or should I buy a 1100 watt amp to match the 1100 watt sub?
