I may be asking a question that I already know the answer to but I would like some other opinions. I’m in the process of revising my current system. I have upgraded to Infinity 6.5” components (2 pair) from Polk EX368s but I was planning on keeping the Polks, since they fit in the factory mounts. I plan to align the “viewing angle” of the Infinitys with a laser pointer but I obviously can’t realign the Polks. The Polks sound excellent, although not on part with the Infinitys, of course. My main concerns are: How much trouble with sound being out of phase should I expect, how much cancellation (if any) should I expect, and what can be done about it, (if anything)? I know that phase problems are inevitable. It’s just a question of how much. What I don’t know for sure – I’m ashamed to say – is what kind of cancellation I may get. If there is a way to avoid it, I’ll run both the Polks and the Infinitys (despite lowering the SQ a little, which I’m aware of), for sheer volume. Meanwhile, I had the joy of listening to a single set of Diamond HEX S600s components yesterday at 170W RMS apiece from a Crossfire amp. All I can say is… * w o w *. They blew away anything I have ever listened to. I regret getting the Infinitys now, but that’s life.
