Will a GT-28 kill a Pro60?

I'm pretty dead set on getting some Boston Pro60's (or the SE's). They are rated for 125 rms at 3 ohm i believe. I'm getting them from a local place that carries Boston. Now, for amps, they only carry Boston or Kenwood. I dont want Kenwood, IMO.

Anyways, I was thinking of getting the GT-24 which would have been perfect for the pro 60's (at least for wattage) but they dont have it in stock and their boston rep can't get any. Now they can get me a GT-28 but would it be overkill? I think it is rated for 250-2rms at 4 ohms. They just told me to turn the gain down, but I'd rather not chance it, especially if it is rated for double the power.

Also, should I look at some other brands (saw a zed duece 200-2rms). My max is $500 (yes that includes the gt28) and the lower the better.

Thanks

Pretty much the only reason I'm not jumping the gun on the Zed (or another brand like diamond, sundown, arc, etc) is because there is no one around here to tune it. I could bring it to the place where I got my speakers but I dont know if they will give me a hassle about tuning a brand they don't carry.

I know I'm not skilled for lack of a better word, to tune it.

I dunno we will see.

bump yo

any other opinions? If I get out of work early tomorrow, I want to stop by the store and pick up the pro60's but I dont know what the situation is with the amp

If the gains are set correctly, the amp will be perfect for the pro 60. Less power, with the gains set too high, causing distortion, kill more speakers than too much power set correctly.

bump, anyone else have any good amp ideas for this set up? probably shooting for 150-200rms and I'm not sure if I will be able to bridge it because the components are an odd 3 ohm
