I would never no there was a problem until I turn them off and get in at a later time and they won't come on until I unplug the rca cables and plug them back in then they work perfect again till the next time they are shut off. It is a wierd one let me tell ya. I checked all my connections and everything seems fine. The 1 wire I left disconnected is the mute wire and I don't think that would have anything to do with it. When I get home tonight I am going to check the voltage and try a different amp.
The amp does not seem to get hot at all. As a matter of fact I have let it sit all night go to work in the morning and I won't have any sound from the sub. I used speaker wire that came in the amp kit from rockford I think they are 18 gauge. The wire from the battery is 4 gauge. The amp is rated at 200rms and the sub calls for 115-225 rms. The rca cables are directional cables that came with the kit and they are going the right way and connected the right way. The sub and amp work fine for hours if I don't turn them off but once I turn them off I need to unplug the rca cables to get them to turn back on. I would think if it was a heat issue it would do it while I was playing it. I don't have any noise thru the speaker or anything.
