Humanity hinges on the idea that people are capable of making rational decisions. It's immoral to kill another human being without just cause because of a sense of morality, that is, the idea that we all share, at a base level, the same set of moral ideals. A deer, on the other hand, lacks the same rational mindedness of humans. Therefore, on that fundamental level, I am superior. If I want to kill a deer to put food on the table for a family, I have the moral obligation to do that.</p></blockquote><p></p>
