hey i figure i should share some pictures of last seasons bow hunt... I spotted this deer at around 10:45am when we were driving back to camp from a morning hunt. It was about a week into bow season 06' I wasnt hunting since i can no longer bow hunt but my buddy was and this was one of the finest deer we have seen where we hunt. Its a Columbian Black Tail. We were in the eldorado national forest in CA. About 20 miles south west of Tahoe. A close up shot of the deer. At first we couldnt believe our eyes but my buddy got the chance to get out of the truck and get into position without the deer moving. This deer was about 70 yards out and my buddys bow only had up to 60 yard pin on it. He had been taking 70-120 yard shots the night before just incase we saw anyhting at distance but where we hunt distance is 50 yards... Here is a relative shot to show the distance from the point of release. He missed unfortunatly, it would of been his first archery kill. It was quite a experience though. He got anxious and didnt take the time to steady out and the arrow missed by about 2 feet low. Hit the dirt right below the bucks hoof.
