Since the dawn of time Man has hunted to survive. From the Ice age hunters killing Mammoths, to the Eskimos hunting whale and walrus, to the Indians hunting buffalo, to the modern day hunter with white tail, turkey, and other game. Hunting was used as a means to survive. Food, clothing, hunting tools, and all sorts of items were used from the carcass...Including money. I do agree that hundreds of years ago up to or around the early to middle 20th century some animals fell to extension or close due to over hunting. The humpback whale, the buffalo, the white tail (yes they were also dieing out at one point in time), walrus, as well as many other animals. Today hunting is not only still used as a means for food, but its also a sport, and animal population control. With out this control the animal and our own food supply would/could be at a major risk. These animals that were nearly wiped out by our hands are now full in number and watched close to ensure that they will be around for a long time. Our game and fish commission is doing an excellent job at preserving our animal population. You may think what you want about inhumane or murder, but the fact is, we have been hunting since our creation. You can not argue against that. I feel that any type of hunting is fine as long as one thing...the animal is used in food. Sport, fun, leisure, or any type, as long as the animal isnt simply discarded it is OK in my mind. You say that we are killing innocent animals, but you see, we are the top of the food chain. We are and were created smarter then the deer, just as the lion was created with sharp teeth and claws to trap and kill its antelope prey. Our claws and teeth are guns and arrows. There is no difference. I can go on with this if you wish to continue our conversation. I hope that since you have the ability to make threads that are your opinion and one sided, you have the intellect to sit and hear/read the other side.
