i got a letter from financial aid today... saying all my aid for 06/07 has been canceled. Including the summer classes I'm registered for and start in two weeks. They said that i failed to meet cumulative standard of successfully completing 67% of my attempted credits, INCLUDING transfer credits. At first i was confused.. because i got a 4.0 both semesters this year and completed 6/7 attempted classes (i dropped 1 class on the second day because teacher sucked). 6/7 is still 85% way above 67%...but then i thought about it.. i did some program in high school where you attend a community college and earn both hs and college credits. I generally just screwed off and failed and withdrew from many classes.. over 3 years i ended up with like 44 credits and a 2.3 GPA before dropping out.. i withdrew form tons of classes.. my high school counselor would always sign me up for a shit load of classes.. and i would just go into the college and drop the ones i didn't like... The program was not through student aid at all, it was not loans.. it was the high school education i was entitled to like everyone else... paid for by the school district... you had to test into the program. this was also in another state and 10 years ago. well fast forward to last year... i decide to go back to school.. i apply for and receive aid... i register and i also request transcripts form to use the credits i have from my failed attempt at college..not knowing this would royally screw me over and i should maybe just start over and not tell them about what happened 10 years ago in another state. I do well, and earn straight A's both semesters. But because of my shady *** track record from when i was 16.. i get fcked after one year... there is no way i could have overcome my transcripts in only one year.. impossible..and no one bothered to tell me when i was registering. Plus they dont bother to tell me until now.. two weeks before school starts again..and the letter itself is dated 3 weeks ago.. but post marked yesterday.. they let that shit sit for three weeks...i better win an appeal.. bishes..
