http://www.fox21.com/Global/story.asp?S=4340969&nav=menu149_3 Cornell University says that at least 100 dogs have died across the country from eating Diamond Dog Food whose operations are based in Gaffney. About a week ago Fox Carolina's Lidia St. Mark interviewed dog owner, Gina Woods, who has already had five dogs die after they ate the recalled dog food. Now new test results confirm what she knew all along. Exactly one month ago today Gina Woods dogs played in the yard, happy and healthy. Then on Christmas day this was one of the dogs just before she died. Woods says, "I ain't slept, I ain't ate, this has been the worst year ever." And it continued into this year, another dog died just a few days ago bringing the total to five. Woods says, "Some people dogs are dogs but to us we have no children, these are our dogs our hairy kids." She suspected the cause of their deaths was right under her and literally all of the dogs' noses as she looked at this bar code. The Diamond Dog food they all ate had been recently recalled for containing the deadly toxin, aflatoxin. Her instinct proved to be right. Clemson Veterinary Diagnostic Center confirmed that three of the dogs tested all died from alflatoxin poisoning. The test results on the dog food is expected to come back by Wednesday.
