Uhm, what? err... no. That diagram has nothing to do with their statement about chassis grounding, read above where they discuss resistance issues.
The 'never' diagram shows a possible ground loop issue. I assume that's the problem they are referring to.

The least voltage drop can be achieved by running the negative wire from the car battery, equal

in size to the positive run, all the way to the amps. Copper conducts dramatically better than

steel. (Ignore statements to the contrary) When grounding your BATCAP, avoid chassis grounds.

Always fuse power source.

However, as I stated above, just because they say that (and that is questionable) does not mean that's what the 'never' diagram refers to. If you are gonna be a smart-***, at least be right.

assume instead of a batcap you use a seperate trunk battery

would the same be if you grounded the trunk battery to the chassis?

thats what i have and i have no negative side effects... i should run a seperate ground all the way from trunk to hood ?
