They don't but you can tell if you get up to the ones thats have been housed in halogen casings. I'm not even sure they are trained to spot illegal HID conversions (opinion).

It sucks if you worked a ton, you're already tired, and someone pulls up on your *** with blinding lights that give you a headache. I never really noticed it until I didn't have tint when I switched cars.

believe it is used interchangeable when people refer to the bright white lights on cars. Xenon being the gas in the bulbs..but the HID is the type of lamp.
They can include {wiki}:

* Mercury vapor lamps

* Metal halide (MH) lamps

* Ceramic MH lamps

* Sodium vapor lamps

* Xenon short-arc lamps.

* Ultra-High Performance (UHP)

Xenon bulbs are nowhere near as bright and nowhere near the cost of HIDs.

Xenon is a drop-in replacement for halogen bulbs, HID's can be...but work better if you use projectors

you have to buy the kit, which comes with ballasts and the bulbs, just the bulb doesnt do anything.. it'll just be the color.. thats about it

you can buy the bulbs..they come in a 'conversion kit', if installed wrong though will look ugly and the view you get will be distorted.

I actually love my xenon lights..they are the best lights on a car I have had yet...but, tonight I was coming home and got behind a truck at a stop light..big ol hillbilly gets out cursing at me for having my brights on..I flash my brights and show him they're nowhere near my bright level. He got back in his truck and you see it just rocking side from side as he's pissed off..ended up staying behind him and then speeding around him - but, just don't get why its such a big adjustment for people around here. We rarely have cars with xenons on the road...for sakes its Kansas.

He said theyre stock on his Acura. I drive an Acura myself, so i know what you mean by them having very bright likes, it gives the cars a nick look //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif mine on my 2000 are just bright enough to have friends n family point them out but i have never once gotten a complaint from a fellow driver.

i just put new projectors in my car, and i gotta say they have a SHARP cutoff,waiting for the HIDS to get here next week.. gotta pull the assembly out and Silicon the seal, as these aftermarkets got condensation after 2 days

just cuz there stock doesnt mean they are pointed correctly

they may have moved, or if someone had removed or replaced the bulbs, they need to be adjusted

then agian, sometimes you are just at a bad angle and get blinded.

I get blinded by some cars that were built in the early 90s
