Ok ive seen a few people on here with them and when u go to change your avatar theres even some pre loaded on this site,but how come i cant use my own animated pic as my avatar?

Too big, too large a file... And it kills the loading time for dialup.

Same happened to me, even if I hotlink to fileshack it says I'm not allowed an animated image, yet I can use it in my sig.....
