I am sure nearly as many whites in certain areas didn't vote for him because he was black. This argument IMO cancels itself out as irrelevant.

8 years from now when some other white guy runs for president as a Dem, I will vote for him as well. Quit trying to turn this to a black/white thing. I have ALWAYS voted democrat. I am 31. This was not my first time voting. Do all the stats that you want. Figure out how many people voted for McCain because they didn't want to vote for a black man. It is what it is, think how you wanna think. You sound like you voted for McCain because of the so called "issues" GTFO. If Obama was white with the same agenda, he still gets my vote because he's a DEM. Had Hillary won the Dem nomination, I woulda voted for her. Your "point" is not a point at all.

I actually have no problem with a black voter making race the determining factor when deciding to vote for Obama. I don't view it as though they are necessarily trying to keep a white guy out of office, but they are trying to elect, for the first time ever, a member of their own race to the office.

Also, keep in mind that voting for a democratic nominee is not exactly a stretch for black people. The percentage of black voters voting dem this year was not that much higher than in previous elections, the turnout was just much greater.
