I've got a set of 2 way 6x9 kappas in my front doors, and have regreted an ill informed decision since about a week after buying them. I read alot about how good they are on non-car audio specific websites, and bought them thinking they were high end (considering the $200 price tag and the fact that they were some of the more pricey speakers sold at Car Toys).
The midbass is practically non-existant, the tweeters will give you a headache AND ear bleeding at moderate volumes, and the bass is laughable considering they're 6x9s intended for at least some bass. I hooked them up to an old RF amp rated 75 rms at 2 ohms, hoping for some more midbass/bass, to no avail. Just makes my ears bleed sooner.
I picked up some perfect 10.1s from crutchfield for a BOGO deal and put them in a custom ported box under my rear seats (very hard to get a good sounding box for under the rear seats). Granted they aren't meant for extreme SPL (or SPL at all), they actually get moderately loud. Enough to make my rear wall flex just a bit.
From extensive research here and several other car audio sites, I've decided I'm selling BOTH kidneys and asking tons of questions before I buy some components in the $200-500 price range.
Infinity coaxials, or components for that matter, get a big thumbs down for anyone that really cares about good sound (or that part of the body from the neck up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif )
DON'T BUY THEM!!!
