My xbox360 is not having any problems and it was an extremely good deal (signed up for a credit card at target) got one for $350.
The specifications are pretty impressive and you'd be looking at $1500-2000 for a computer that would boast similar processing power if you built it yourself (Much more if you went Alienware/Dell Route). I have built several computers (around the order of 10 and was considering building an extreme highend computer, but have been hesitant because of the high cost. After purchasing my 360...I am thoroughly impressed even with the poor launch titles.
Xbox360 was rushed for holiday and developers only received the final development kits in late August (that leaves them 2 maybe 3 months to work on the graphics/physics/etc for the game). Give them a break, most games take 2 years, some taking 4+ years. Look at the games schedules for february release...and those schedules for the PS3 release. Those are very impressive.
Gears of War and Elder Scrolls Oblivion look amazing...also hoping for Halo3 to be a hit (I loved Halo 1, Ill admit Halo 2 was a MAJOR letdown but microsoft rushed them as they do with everything. The multiplayer with Xbox Live was downright revolutionary in my opinion as far as console gaming)
