which would you chose?

okay I have 2 dual 2 subs, im not worrie about powering the subs more for, the rockford punch p400-1 I can get for 201$ shipped new, or I can get the alpine mrp500 for 150$..........which do you guys think would put out more power and are these amps eventally usable on door speakers

i'd go with the punch ,too many issues with that alpine amp i had 3 blow up for no reason.and they wont work on the doors unless you are powering small subs.they are subwoofer amps ,hence mono block

The first half of the question doesn't really make sense at all...

But no, those will not run more than one speaker. They will run one speaker, mono speaker, hence... monoblock.

So you need power @ 2 ohms or .5 ohms. In that case, I would find a monoblock that does power @ 2 ohms or a 2 channel. Preferably, the monoblock.

pretty much this is my question. Which will put out more power the punch 400-1 or the alpine 500, and then say I get the punch 400-1 can I use that on mids and highs once I upgrade my subs?

Nay... A monoblock is for mono channel... What you COULD do for now, is get a 4 channel amp, Run your fronts off the first 2 channels, and bridge the other 2 channels to your subs. It won't be a ton of power, but it'll move the subs until you can upgrade to better subs, and a sub amp. Then once you do that upgrade, you can use the original 4ch amp for all your speakers, and have the upgraded monoblock for the subs.
