I own 05 Murano SL with stock Bose system, (6 cd changer in dash) stock bose amp, and stock bose sub. I want to use headunit and upgrade my system using some good components. I have 2 sets of Focal 165W (old 6.5 componeent set) 6.5 mid drivers, and 1 inch tweeters TN51, with its own crossover 24 db/oct (3 kHz). Each set of the components rated at 100 per channel RMS, 200 max, to be installed in factory front and rear door panels of SUV, plenty of dynamat for doors. I own JL prowedge box with 2 10's, and JL 500/1 amp to power it. I own Kinetic 1400 battery for system. I bought a PAC Amplifier integration interface for Nissan vehicles, so I can use external amps.
Scenario 1
Buy Alpine 4.150 (4 x 150 rms) class D amp to power components and use Focal designed crossover for these components.
Scenario 2
Buy Audio Control DQXS digital crossover with parametic EQ
Buy Alpine PDX 4.100 (4 x 100 rms) digital Cl D amp to power 4 MID DRIVERS
Buy another lower power 4 channel amp (50 x 4) rms to run tweets only.
Do you think system would sound much better with the Scenario 2?
Do you think the difference in cost (about 750.00) would be worth the investment? Looking for comments from Audiofiles with lots of experience.
I will not be competing. Comments from experts GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thanks, Mike 973 626 4455 if you feel like calling instead of typing.
