Does it have to play from a CD? How about an HU with a USB port? I have a JVC Arsenal AR-880 that I would just plug a USB Thumb Drive into and it worked great.

With loud enough bass, any HU will skip.

If you want a cheap solution to use for when you're competing, just take the HU out of the dash and hold it.

Eclipse 8053. Besides 8v deadhead outputs, it has a large buffer for skipping problems. I don't have to use padding or rear stabilization.
