Which external DVD burner?

i was thinking of expanding the capabilities of my computers and wanted to go with an external DVD burner because i have like 3 computers in my house, so if i have something on one computer i can easily transport the burner from one computer to another. Im not really deep into the computer technical knowledge. So i want to know whats the best external DVD burner to get and whats the best Software to use to burn movies and things on.

Also i have a problem with one of my computers, one of them seems to not put any sound out of the speakers, the speakers came form another computer i have, before it put out very little sound u could barely hear it wit the volume all the way up. What coould be my problem, i tried to search for the speakers on under the speaker setup menu on windows XP but it acts like it doesnt ant to configure the speakers, could it be my sound card. All i get is the computer noice and not the sound coming from the speakers. Help me out cause i want some sounds from these speakers

I have a sony extrernal DVD burner. got it for xmas a coupl years back for $100 canadian. Wroks perfect for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif it is a single layer burner.

You gotta search, man.

A double layer burner is just that- it will burn dual layer discs.

Say you have a single layer burner- to burn an entire movie, with all the extras, youll have to compress it down quite a bit, losing picture quality.

If you have a dual layer burner, you wont have to compress the movie and extras to get it on.

Dual layer holds about 8.5 gigs, single layer 4.7

As for software, I use dvdshrink and dvd decrypter to rip and burn, respectively. Also look into Slysoft's anydvd to help out with stubborn copy protection.
