Which Brand of Battery?

Ok i have 1998 saturn (very similar to Pioneer~Saturn's) and i plan to upgrade my system due to the disease of car audio....And i'm positive(no pun intended) i'll need a new battery. So for side-mount GM cars which batteries do you guys prefer/recommend. I was looking at the Deka Intimidator 9A78DT or a yellowtop or some kind of Kinetic. I only plan to upgrade the batt under the hood.(Not trying to go too crazy with the sound just maybe 1100-1500RMS depending on the sub and prob 120x2rms for my comps)

IMO you can't go wrong with any of the above, with exception to the Optima and the group 31s. Optima is crap for car audio in general. They will not last. Group 31 batteries would be great, if you can shoe horn them in, which you likely cannot.

The HC1800/HC2000 are probably too large without some modification, but would do nicely with the Kinetik Side Post Adapters.

Most likely you will need a group 34 battery if you don't want to modify the stock battery location at all. That would be a drop in replacement. However, I have never seen a group 34 be able to power that much music from all the way under the hood.

Here is what I would do. I would go with 2 smaller batteries, if you can afford it. Two of the HC1200 would be about perfect. One under the hood and one in the trunk. This is NOT a cheap option, but it would be rock solid. And you would not have to sacrifice much space to do it.

I agree. If you want the "BEST" audio battery, I think the premium you would pay over the Deka unit is hard to justify.
