I was wondering if lower bass notes like in the 30 hz region travel farther or do higher notes up around 50 hz travel farther? Just kind of curious. I am going to guess that the lower ones travel farther. I have noticed that the higher bass notes can't be felt as much in other vehicles as the lower ones.

Another question that kinda relates to the question. If you were pretty close to a building which would be able to be heard better inside...lower or higher? Which would shake stuff more like the windows and things on the wall?

Just kinda curious about this...kinda go bored and it came to my mind and thought I might as well ask.

Id say the low notes for shaking things and being heard(most of the time) cause that high note in hypnotize can be heard inside buildings pretty **** well
confused me on that one. You said low notes for shaking things and being heard...then you said high note can be heard inside buildings pretty well.

Maybe im just reading it wrong lol

im meaning that the low notes are most often heard better and shake things better.. But some high notes also can be heard inside buildings really well.. and for an example that i gave i said Hypnotize.. Anyone whos heard that song knows what im talking about

And what im saying is just from my experiences

From what I always understood the higher frequencies always transfer farther that’s why whales and other marine life use them. But hell that could only apply to under water… I sure as hell didn’t go to school as a sound engineer so I wouldn’t be the most qualified to answer but that would be my guess…
